Never stubbornly walk into the middle of the enemy team or CC range just to catch your Skill 1 axes for extra damage! Your movement becomes perfectly predictable, making you an easy target for hooks and hard CC that will instantly delete you. No axe is worth your life. Sometimes you have to let it drop to prioritize your safety and stay alive.
