Popular Jax builds in game

Taken from the in-game loadout screen as of 2026-08-26. The pick count and win rate are shown exactly as the game reports them.

Build 1Win rate 56.36%Picks 7,578

Gets tougher and hits harder the longer a fight lasts

  • Trinity Force
  • Riftmaker
  • Amaranth's Twinguard
  • Zeke's Convergence
  • Guardian Angel
  • Chainlaced Crushers

When enemy damage is split between physical and magic and fights run long

Amaranth's Twinguard adds 60 Armor and 60 Magic Resistance. It also builds one Endurance stack per second in combat with enemy champions, and at 5 stacks AR and MR each rise by a further 30%. Riftmaker likewise adds 2% bonus damage for every second spent fighting enemy champions, capped at 8%. Across the whole build that comes to +140 Armor, +90 Magic Resistance and +30% Tenacity.

Build 2Win rate 55.44%Picks 5,541

Chews through high-health frontliners with on-hits

  • Dusk and Dawn
  • Mercury's Treads
  • Blade of the Ruined King
  • Hullbreaker
  • Zhonya's Hourglass
  • Force of Nature

When the enemy fields a high-health frontline and leans on magic damage

Blade of the Ruined King's melee attacks deal bonus physical damage equal to 8.5% of the target's current HP on-hit, with a minimum of 15. The build's +60% Attack Speed lets you land more of those hits in a fight. Force of Nature stacks Steadfast each time an enemy champion's ability damage lands on you, and at 4 stacks it reduces all incoming magic damage by 20%. The +30% Tenacity comes from Mercury's Treads.

Jax Strengths

  • Strong counter to basic-attack-reliant champions
  • Strong late-game 1v1 and hard-to-stop split pushing
  • Good engage with a targeted leap and an AoE stun

Jax Weaknesses

  • ×Weak early laning and strict mana management
  • ×Relies on cooldowns and is fragile when locked down by CC
  • ×Needs core items before he can take over the game

Early Game

Take favorable trades by negating enemy basic attacks with Skill 3. Don't force kills early; prioritize farming and rush Trinity Force.

Mid Game

Split push in the side lanes and beat anyone who tries to 1v1 you. If several enemies collapse, leap away with Skill 1 and let your team take objectives in the meantime.

Late Game

A full-build Jax is very strong in a 1v1. Keep pressuring the side lane, then use the Teleport boot enchant to join the teamfight from behind and break the enemy team.

Teamfights

Ignore the tanks and leap onto the enemy's squishy backline carries with Skill 1 to draw their focus. Landing the Skill 3 stun on several targets in the middle of their team swings the fight heavily your way.

⚠️ Common Mistakes

Wasting Skill 3 (Counter Strike) on wave clear

Using Skill 3 (Counter Strike) to clear minions is a mistake. It negates basic attacks and stuns, and it is Jax's lifeline. If the enemy all-ins while it's on cooldown, you have no answer. Save it for trades and escaping ganks.

Base Stats AR per level: 3.9 → 4.5 Relentless Assault Attack Speed per level: 5~19 → 6~20 Counter Strike Damage based on Max HP: 3% → 3.5% Grandmaster's Might Passive base damage: 60/110/160 → 75/130/185 Active base damage: 150/250/350 → 100/200/300 This shifts weight from Jax's ultimate cast onto the passive he carries through the whole fight. The passive gains damage at every rank while the active falls from 150 to 100 at rank 1, rewarding sustained attacking over a single burst. More AR per level and a higher attack speed ramp make him steadier the longer a fight runs. Counter Strike's max HP scaling also rises 0.5%, slightly improving his damage into health-stacked targets.
Jax
JaxPatch 7.0f
Buff
Grandmaster's Might Bonus AD gained from AR on hitting a champion: 40% → 50% Bonus AD gained from MR on hitting a champion: 24% → 30% Grandmaster's Might builds Jax up every time he connects with a champion, which is why the longer a brawl runs the better it goes for him. Raising the AR-based scaling from 40% to 50% and the MR-based scaling from 24% to 30% means the payoff grows with every defensive item he finishes. If he can stay in the middle of a teamfight and keep landing hits on several targets, he is far more likely to still be standing when it ends.
