Stridebreaker's active dashes a short distance, damages nearby enemies, and slows them by 40% for 3 seconds on a 25-second cooldown. With 55% Attack Speed in total, you can keep swinging at a target the slow has pinned down.

  • Armored Advance
  • Trinity Force
  • Black Cleaver
  • Sterak's Gage
  • Amaranth's Twinguard
  • Guardian Angel

When physical damage keeps coming and hard crowd control locks you down

Armored Advance grants a physical shield absorbing 20-140 plus 5% max HP after a champion deals physical damage to you, on a 12-second cooldown. Sterak's Gage adds a shield worth 75% bonus max HP when damage drops you below 35% HP; it decays over 5 seconds on a 70-second cooldown, and triggering it also increases your size and grants 30% Tenacity for 8 seconds. Durability comes from the build's 1283 Max Health and 130 Armor, while Heavy Handed separately adds bonus AD equal to 50% of base AD.

Gnar Strengths

  • Poke and mobility in Mini form, durability and CC in Mega form
  • No mana costs, so skills can be used freely
  • Large teamfight impact as Mega Gnar

Gnar Weaknesses

  • ×Transformation timing is hard to control precisely
  • ×Fragile in Mini form; getting caught often means death
  • ×Strict Rage management that needs team coordination

Early Game

Use Mini Gnar's long range to harass freely while farming safely with Boomerang. Rage management matters a lot; ideally, call for a gank right as you are about to turn into Mega Gnar.

Mid Game

Apply steady pressure through split pushing, and have your Rage built before objective fights begin. Mega Gnar's teamfight impact is large, so never neglect your gauge.

Late Game

Rage control decides fights at this stage. Tune it so you turn Mega right before the fight starts, and time your Teleport or walk-in to arrive on cue. Then deliver your engage into the enemy team.

Teamfights

Transform into Mega Gnar and dive the enemy team with Flash or Skill 3 (Hop). Smashing several targets into a wall with your Ult for the stun puts the teamfight heavily in your favor.

⚠️ Common Mistakes

Wasting the Mega Gnar transformation

Recalling right before your Rage caps and you turn into Mega Gnar is a big mistake. Transforming with no one around is the same; you throw away your strongest window before teamfights and objective fights. Manage your gauge and time your engage with the transformation.

Gnar Combos

Mega Gnar Engage

Jump in with Skill 3 just before your rage fills and transform mid-air. Slam them into a wall with Ult, then chain CC.

Mega Gnar Bonus stats while transformed HP: 100~850 → 100~900 AR: 4~55 → 5~60 MR: 4~65 → 5~70 Hyper Max HP damage: 6%/8%/10%/12% → 7%/9%/11%/13% Transformed Gnar can shoulder a heavier role now. The upper end of his HP and both resistances rises, so the durability gap widens as he levels. The lower ends of AR and MR each go up by 1 as well, meaning the transform feels stronger from the early game rather than only late. Hyper also deals 1% more max HP damage at every rank, letting him cut through durable targets faster and making it easier to justify stepping up to trade.
