Cryptbloom for haste and a teamfight heal

  • Spellslinger's Shoes
  • Lich Bane
  • Infinity Orb
  • Rabadon's Deathcap
  • Banshee's Veil
  • Cryptbloom

When the game is decided in grouped teamfights with your allies nearby

Cryptbloom brings +75 Ability Power, 30% Magic Penetration and 20 Ability Haste. That takes build 1 to 30 Ability Haste in total, where build 2 sits at 10. Its Life from Death passive triggers when a champion you damaged within the last 3 seconds dies, sending a nova from the corpse that restores 100 + 20% AP health to allies on a 60 second cooldown. Chip damage into a target that then falls and your team gets topped up as well.

Build 2Win rate 50.73%Picks 900

Void Staff to push Magic Penetration to 48%

  • Spellslinger's Shoes
  • Lich Bane
  • Infinity Orb
  • Rabadon's Deathcap
  • Void Staff
  • Banshee's Veil

When enemies start stacking Magic Resistance and your damage falls off

Void Staff carries no passive at all, just +95 Ability Power and 40% Magic Penetration. That puts build 2 at 48% Magic Penetration against 38% in build 1, so it cuts deeper into enemies who have invested in Magic Resistance. Ability Power totals edge ahead too, 575 against 555.

Spell shards last on the ground for 20 seconds.

Zoe Strengths

  • High burst that can one-shot from long range
  • Catch potential with long-range sleeps over walls
  • Flexible play built on picking up enemy Summoner Spells

Zoe Weaknesses

  • ×Depends on skillshots; missing means no damage
  • ×No reliable escape, so getting caught usually means death
  • ×Slightly slow wave clear; being pushed in removes her poke

Early Game

Early on, pick up last hits with Skill 1 Paddle Star and poke the enemy whenever there is an opening. Skill 3's sleep gains a lot of range when cast over a wall, so always look for angles from out of sight. Once you unlock Ult at Lv5, unpredictable poke and sleeps from a safe distance let you control the lane.

Mid Game

In the mid game, play as a catch mage: long-range poke from out of vision and one-combo kills on sleeping targets. Secure vision around objectives and snipe anyone who walks up carelessly with Skill 3 over a wall. Picking up dropped Summoner Spells and active items while moving around the map is another of Zoe's strengths.

Late Game

Late in the game, a single Skill 1 from Zoe can remove more than half of a squishy target's health. The win pattern is to keep poking from range before the fight starts and force the enemy to recall. She is fragile enough to die instantly if caught, so always watch your position.

Teamfights

Never dive into the middle of a teamfight. Your job is to break the enemy formation from the edges with poke and sleeps. Stay behind your frontline and look only for Skill 3 on the enemy carry. Once it turns chaotic, pick up and use the spells flying around and keep the enemy guessing with hard-to-read movement.

⚠️ Common Mistakes

Portal jumping into the enemy team and getting caught

Portal jumping into the middle of the enemy team and getting caught is the most dangerous way to use Zoe's Ult. Because you return to where you started, the enemy knows exactly where you will land. Jump right in front of them or inside CC range, and they stack CC on your return and kill you. Treat Ult as an extension from safety: use it to land Skill 3 over a wall, or to add distance to Skill 1 for more damage.

Sleepy Trouble Bubble picks up 10 on both its magic and its true damage, so the total that lands on a sleeping target goes up as well. Both are hard skill shots, so this raises the reward for connecting without making a game full of misses any more forgiving.

Spell Thief Missile base damage: 20-50 → 25-55 Sleepy Trouble Bubble Missile speed increased Portal Jump Cooldown reduced Zoe lives and dies by whether her skillshots land, and this patch helps at both ends of that. The faster Sleepy Trouble Bubble leaves less room to dodge on reaction, and the extra base damage on Spell Thief makes the chip damage after a hit more reliable. The shorter Portal Jump cooldown lets her run her intended pattern — step in, fire, hop back out — more often.

Base Stats Base AD decreased More Sparkles! Base damage decreased Spell Thief Base damage decreased Zoe builds her early damage out of base AD plus the flat damage on these two abilities, and all three come down together. Chipping the enemy laner while farming is slower, so one-sided lanes are harder to force. Since the cuts land on base values rather than ratios, the early game feels them most. The ratios were left alone, so a fully built Zoe still hits as hard as she used to.
