Popular Morgana builds in game

Taken from the in-game loadout screen as of 2026-08-29. The pick count and win rate are shown exactly as the game reports them.

Build 1Win rate 55.92%Picks 20,487

Support kit built to sustain allies and survive

  • Spectral Sickle
  • Blackfire Torch
  • Liandry's Torment
  • Crimson Lucidity
  • Rylai's Crystal Scepter
  • Bloodletter's Curse

When you're laned as the support and want to keep an ally alive

Tribute on Spectral Sickle fires when you damage an enemy champion or structure near an ally, or attack a minion below 65% HP. Orbs build up one every 30 seconds, and each trigger spends one for 65 gold and 20-80 HP. The build totals +1000 Max Health and +60 Ability Haste, and Crimson Lucidity also cuts spell cooldowns by 20%. Bloodletter's Curse strips 7.5% MR from a champion each time you hit it with magic damage from abilities or passives, up to 30%.

Build 2Win rate 55.51%Picks 10,144

Magic penetration build for solo damage output

  • Blackfire Torch
  • Liandry's Torment
  • Rylai's Crystal Scepter
  • Spellslinger's Shoes
  • Zhonya's Hourglass
  • Cryptbloom

When you carry the damage yourself and enemies stack Magic Resistance

Penetration stacks to +18 flat and +38%, with +435 Ability Power across the build. Cryptbloom heals allies for 100 + 20% AP when a champion you damaged within the last 3 seconds dies, on a 60-second cooldown. Zhonya's Hourglass buys 2.5 seconds of invulnerability where you cannot be targeted, but you cannot move, attack or use anything during it (90s cooldown).

Morgana Strengths

  • Skill 3 (Black Shield) blocks crowd control on an ally
  • Long Skill 1 snare that catches isolated targets

Morgana Weaknesses

  • ×Long cooldowns; missing Skill 1 drops lane pressure
  • ×Low mobility leaves her weak to assassins who get close

Early Game

Push the wave with Skill 2 to take control of the lane. Threaten with the Skill 1 bind so the enemy hesitates to step up. Save Skill 3 (Black Shield) for ganks and dangerous CC.

Mid Game

Land Skill 1 from outside vision to catch isolated enemies. Your poke and zoning are strong around Dragon and Baron. Work with your team to hold the area around objectives.

Late Game

Do not step up too far; hold a position where you can protect your carries. If the enemy forces an engage, combine Ult with Zhonya's Hourglass. You can keep the chains on inside their formation and break it up.

Teamfights

Prioritize Black Shield on your carry and focus on peeling. The moment enemy assassins or fighters dive in, cast Ult. Shackle everyone and turn the fight from there.

⚠️ Common Mistakes

Wasting Black Shield

Using Skill 3 (Black Shield) just to absorb a bit of magic damage is a waste. Its value is blocking fatal hard CC. Cast it on your carry when the enemy engages, or on yourself when you dive in with Ult after level 5.

Morgana Combos

Basic Harass

Root them with Skill 1, then pour the damage from Skill 2 onto the immobilized target.

Nerf
W Cooldown reduction: reduced This slows down the loop of chaining abilities back to back. With less cooldown refunded by W, the gap before the next cast is longer, so holding the lockdown and the defensive ability for the right moment carries more weight. The difference shows most in drawn-out fights, where a wasted cast leaves a longer stretch with nothing to answer with.
