Popular Lux builds in game

Taken from the in-game loadout screen as of 2026-08-26. The pick count and win rate are shown exactly as the game reports them.

Build 1Win rate 56.61%Picks 44,745

Support build that shreds enemy shields

  • Spectral Sickle
  • Luden's Echo
  • Infinity Orb
  • Rabadon's Deathcap
  • Oceanid's Trident
  • Spellslinger's Shoes

When you're playing support and an enemy champion shields their team

Spectral Sickle's Tribute fires while you are near an ally, either when you damage an enemy champion or structure, or when you attack a minion below 65% HP. It spends one energy orb to hand you 65 gold and 20–80 HP back, and the gold from minions you finish off goes to your nearest ally instead. Oceanid's Trident's Lethal Weapon cuts the durability of shields an enemy champion gains for 3 seconds after you deal ability damage to them, capped at 45% from area of effect abilities and 60% from single target ones. The build totals 455 Ability Power.

Build 2Win rate 54.6%Picks 16,966

Extra magic penetration for stacked resist

  • Spellslinger's Shoes
  • Luden's Echo
  • Infinity Orb
  • Rabadon's Deathcap
  • Void Staff
  • Morellonomicon

When enemies are buying Magic Resistance and your damage stops landing

Void Staff adds 95 Ability Power and 40% Magic Penetration, bringing the build to 48% plus 33 flat Magic Penetration, with total Ability Power at 545. Percentage penetration pays off in proportion to how much Magic Resistance the enemy actually holds. The more resist they stack, the more of your damage this single item puts through.

Build 3Win rate 54.05%Picks 7,230

Spell shield and magic resist for the burst

  • Luden's Echo
  • Infinity Orb
  • Rabadon's Deathcap
  • Banshee's Veil
  • Morellonomicon
  • Spellslinger's Shoes

When the enemy's main damage is magic and one burst can open you up

Banshee's Veil brings 105 Ability Power and 40 Magic Resistance, and its Annul grants a spell shield that blocks the next hostile ability on a 30-second cooldown. The build's totals include 40 Magic Resistance and 300 Max Health, enough to absorb an opening hit from a magic-heavy team. Ability Power lands at 555, the highest of the three builds.

Lux Strengths

  • Long-range poke and one-combo burst from a safe distance
  • Strong catch potential; landing Skill 1 often leads to a kill
  • Skill 2's return trip shields the whole team

Lux Weaknesses

  • ×No mobility; melts quickly once an assassin gets close
  • ×Defenseless while her skills are on cooldown
  • ×All skills are skillshots; missing them leaves her with nothing

Early Game

Use Skill 3's range to harass from where the enemy cannot answer. When the Skill 1 root lands, follow right away with Skill 3 and an auto-attack. That triggers the passive for heavy damage.

Mid Game

Hide in a brush and wait for the enemy. When someone walks in carelessly, take them down with the full Skill 1 into 3 into Ult combo. Your poke before objectives also applies strong pressure.

Late Game

Late game Ult comes back quickly. Use it freely for wave clear and for checking suspicious brushes. The baseline is to hold the safest position at the very back where the enemy cannot reach you.

Teamfights

Spread Skill 2's shield across your team and keep firing skills from a safe spot. When an ally lands CC, hit the enemy with Ult from off-screen to take them out together.

⚠️ Common Mistakes

Wasting Skill 1 and exposing yourself

Skill 1 starts your combo, but it is also your only way to protect yourself from a dive. If you throw it out carelessly and miss, enemy assassins see the opening and take you down. Fire it only when it is sure to land or when chaining onto ally CC.
