Popular Taliyah builds in game

Taken from the in-game loadout screen as of 2026-08-26. The pick count and win rate are shown exactly as the game reports them.

Build 1Win rate 52.92%Picks 5,037

Cutting through enemy shields with Oceanid's Trident

  • Spellslinger's Shoes
  • Luden's Echo
  • Infinity Orb
  • Rabadon's Deathcap
  • Banshee's Veil
  • Oceanid's Trident

When you are mid and the enemy has shield-granting supports or tanks

Oceanid's Trident's Lethal Weapon cuts the durability of any shield an enemy champion gains for 3 seconds after you deal ability damage to them: up to 45% on area of effect abilities, up to 60% on single target ones. It also carries 200 Max Health, and the build totals 560 Ability Power and 200 Max Health. Ignite pairs with Flash here, burning an enemy champion for 72 (72-380) true damage over 5 seconds.

Build 2Win rate 53%Picks 2,860

Percent Magic Penetration for stacked Magic Resistance

  • Spellslinger's Shoes
  • Luden's Echo
  • Infinity Orb
  • Cryptbloom
  • Rabadon's Deathcap
  • Banshee's Veil

When you are jungling into stacked Magic Resistance and mana is tight

Cryptbloom adds 30% Magic Penetration, taking the build to 33 flat and 38% in total, so a team that piles on Magic Resistance still takes the damage. Its Life from Death passive pays off a kill: when a champion you damaged within 3 seconds dies, a nova spreads from the corpse and restores 100 plus 20% AP HP to allies, on a 60-second cooldown. With 500 Max Mana and 30 Ability Haste, you can keep casting without running dry.

Build 3Win rate 51.64%Picks 1,500

Bonus Health converted into AP for drawn-out fights

  • Infinity Orb
  • Rabadon's Deathcap
  • Cryptbloom
  • Banshee's Veil
  • Riftmaker
  • Spellslinger's Shoes

When you are jungling and teamfights drag on rather than end in a burst

Riftmaker brings 350 Max Health, and its Void Infusion passive turns 2% of your bonus HP into AP. Void Corruption adds 2% bonus damage for every second you spend in combat with enemy champions, up to 8%; at maximum strength it grants Omnivamp, 10% for melee champions and 6% for ranged ones. The build totals 350 Max Health and 35 Ability Haste.

Threaded Volley
Skill 1

Threaded Volley

6s
Hurls 5 rocks in a target direction, each dealing 40 magic damage (40 + 50%AP) in an area around the first enemy hit. This creates Worked Ground below Taliyah.
Subsequent hits against the same target deal 60% less damage.

Threaded Volley casts on Worked Ground:
- Cost 10 Mana and consume the Worked Ground.
- Have 30% less cooldown.
- Hurl a boulder that deals 100 magic damage (100 + 80%AP) to the primary target and slows enemies hit by 25% for 1.5 second(s).
- Monsters hit by the boulder are stunned for 3 second(s).

Each rock deals 20 bonus magic damage against monsters,
and each boulder deals 36 bonus magic damage against monsters.
Taliyah can move and use other abilities while hurling boulders.

Unraveled Earth

13s
Scatters loose stones, dealing 65 magic damage (65 + 55%AP) to enemies hit and slowing them by 20% for 0.5 second(s).

The stones detonate when enemies dash or are knocked through them:
- Deals 20 magic damage (20 + 30%AP).
- Stuns for the remaining movement duration plus 0.75 second(s).

Damage & stun limitations:
- Each enemy only takes damage from a maximum of 5 detonations. Explosions beyond the maximum will not damage them.
- Each enemy can only be stunned once per cast.

Monsters are always stunned for the maximum duration (1 seconds). Deals 190% damage against monsters.
Stones beyond the first one deal 50% less damage.

Weaver's Wall

100s
Creates a massive earthen wall for 4 seconds:
- The wall knocks back nearby enemies when it forms.
- Once the wall is fully formed, Taliyah can recast to destroy it early.

If recast immediately:
- Taliyah rides along the wall as it unravels.
- Moving or being immobilized ends the ride.

This ability cannot be cast if Taliyah has taken damage from champions or structures within the last 3 seconds.

Taliyah Strengths

  • Strong roaming with the passive and Ult
  • Steady magic damage from short cooldowns
  • Zoning that limits enemy movement plus burst combos

Taliyah Weaknesses

  • ×Skillshots are hard to land and test the player's mechanics
  • ×On Worked Ground, Skill 1 becomes a single boulder and loses damage against groups
  • ×Weak in close combat against diving assassins and fighters

Early Game

Early on, take lane priority with Skill 1 poke and wave clear. The Skill 2 plus Skill 3 combo deals heavy damage. It costs a lot of mana, though, so save it for moments when it is sure to land.

Mid Game

The mid game is where Taliyah's mobility pays off. Use the wall-riding passive and Ult to roam quickly to side lanes and shape the game. In vision fights before objectives, laying Skill 3 down in advance deters enemy dashes and approaches.

Late Game

Late game, play as a mage who balances sustained damage with burst. Do not push forward; wear down the frontline first. When someone is out of position, catch them with Skill 2 to create a numbers advantage.

Teamfights

In teamfights, the ideal is to split the enemy with your Ult wall and engage once the terrain favors you. Against assassins or fighters dashing onto you, lay Skill 3 at your feet. They get stunned as they dash across the stones, turning it into a strong counter.

⚠️ Common Mistakes

Misusing Worked Ground (Skill 1)

Trading with Skill 1 carelessly, without knowing how the Worked Ground it leaves behind works, costs you damage. On that ground Skill 1 becomes a single boulder: cheap, strong against one target, and it slows. In exchange, it loses damage against multiple enemies. Choose between the five-rock volley on fresh ground and the boulder based on your target, and from level 5 use Ult for ganks and for splitting the enemy before objectives.

Taliyah Patch History

TaliyahPatch 7.1h

Base Stats Movement speed: 355 → 350 Rock Surfing Movement speed: 10%/15%/25%/40% → 5%/10%/20%/35% Threaded Volley Worked Ground cooldown reduction: 50% → 30% Taliyah's defining strength — covering ground quickly — is cut in three places at once. Five less base movement speed plus 5% less from Rock Surfing at every rank makes rotating between lanes and joining fights clearly slower. The reduced Worked Ground refund also slows how fast she can keep casting from the same spot to clear a wave. Through the early and mid game she simply cannot visit other lanes as often.

Nerf
Threaded Volley Base damage of the 1st of 5 rocks: 50/70/90/110 → 40/60/80/100 Seismic Shove Cast Range: 9 → 8 Unraveled Earth Initial Rock Explosion Damage: 30/45/60/75 → 20/35/50/65 Taliyah arrived too strong, so this patch trims both her early damage and the range at which she can start a fight. Threaded Volley loses 10 damage on its first rock at every rank, slowing her wave clear and her poke so one-sided early shoves are harder to set up. Seismic Shove's cast range drops from 9 to 8, making it harder to commit from a safe distance. Unraveled Earth also loses 10 on the initial explosion, so throwing it out purely for chip damage pays off less.

TaliyahPatch 7.1e
New
New Champion Taliyah, the Stoneweaver, is a wandering mage from Shurima, caught between a girl's curiosity and an adult's sense of duty. Release: May 15, 09:01 JST Taliyah joins from 7.1e as an option in the mid and baron lanes. In the first days after release, pick and ban rates spike because neither opponents nor teammates have a feel for her yet. Note that the following patch, 7.1f, already cut damage on Threaded Volley and Unraveled Earth, so she launched on the strong side.
