Patch 6.3e changes

Update history and meta predictions

Numbers are transcribed from the official Riot patch notes; the commentary is ours. This page covers patch 6.3e (added 2026-05-28).

Meta analysis (patch 6.3e, AI-written forecast)

In Patch 6.3e, Kog'Maw's arrival pushes the meta toward late-game marksman carries. Yuumi and Kalista buffs strengthen duo lane snowballing. Defensive boots and Gargoyle Enchant are nerfed, so assassins and burst champions reach their kill thresholds sooner and aggressive play pays off. The Bloodthirster change also reshapes fighter and ADC build paths.

Death's Dance
Death's DancePatch 6.3e
Nerf
Death's Dance Physical and magic damage stored: 30% → 27% Less of the incoming damage gets deferred, so the item smooths out burst a little less than it used to. When a big hit lands there is a narrower window to survive it and swing back, which makes checking whether the enemy still has their key abilities up more important before committing. It is still strong in extended fights, just less forgiving of forcing a bad one.
Plated Steelcaps
Plated SteelcapsPatch 6.3e
Nerf
Plated Steelcaps Physical damage reduction from champions: 3%–10% → 3%–9% Like the Mercury's Boots change, only the ceiling moves, so the boots cover slightly less against auto-attack damage. The gap per hit is small but adds up over a long exchange with an AD carry, which can justify slotting an AR item a little earlier. The early value is untouched, so laning with them feels the same as before.
Evelynn
EvelynnPatch 6.3e
Buff
Q Base damage: increased Damage to minions: increased This is aimed squarely at Evelynn's clear speed. The higher base damage on Q takes fewer casts to finish a camp, so she moves on to the next one with more health left. Finishing the rotation sooner frees her up to show on a lane before the level gap opens, which means more ganks in the same amount of time.
Morgana
MorganaPatch 6.3e
Nerf
W Cooldown reduction: reduced This slows down the loop of chaining abilities back to back. With less cooldown refunded by W, the gap before the next cast is longer, so holding the lockdown and the defensive ability for the right moment carries more weight. The difference shows most in drawn-out fights, where a wasted cast leaves a longer stretch with nothing to answer with.
Yuumi
YuumiPatch 6.3e
Buff
Passive, Q, W and E Healing, shielding and damage: increased This follows the 6.3d rework with a straight raise to Yuumi's early numbers. She returns more healing and shielding to the ally she is attached to, so she can hold up a lane before either of them has much gear. The added damage also means she is less likely to simply be shoved off the lane, which lets the reworked kit actually function in a real game.
Teemo
TeemoPatch 6.3e
Nerf
Q AP ratio: reduced R AP ratio: reduced Lower AP ratios mean Teemo's mushroom burst no longer climbs as steeply as he stacks ability power. Setting off a mushroom and following with Q still works, but it is less likely to kill outright, so the pattern shifts toward chipping away and driving people off. The cut bites hardest once his items are complete, which makes controlling map space early a more valuable way to build a lead.
Berserker's Greaves
Berserker's GreavesPatch 6.3e
Buff
Berserker's Boots HP restored on hit: 8 → 10 Every landed auto attack returns a little more, so simply farming keeps you on the lane longer. The amount per hit is small, but it adds up fastest on champions who attack often, turning trades that used to force a recall into ones you can walk off. It also takes some of the sting out of a jungle rotation.
Magnetic Blaster
Magnetic BlasterPatch 6.3e
Adjust
Magnetic Blaster Cost: increased Damage to champions: reduced Bonus damage to minions: increased The item moves away from fighting and toward lane control. It pays less in a straight trade against a champion, but clears waves faster thanks to the extra minion damage. With the higher price on top, it now reads as a purchase for players who want to dictate where the wave sits rather than win duels with it.
Mercury's Treads
Mercury's TreadsPatch 6.3e
Nerf
Mercury's Boots Magic damage reduction from champions: 3%–12% → 3%–10% Only the upper end comes down, so the loss grows as the rest of the build fills in. Against a magic-heavy team, boots alone no longer cover as much of the damage, which means finding room for a dedicated MR item. Buying them for the tenacity is unaffected, so it is worth being clear about which of the two you are actually after.
Kalista
KalistaPatch 6.3e
Buff
E Damage: increased R Cooldown: reduced Both changes push Kalista toward closing out kills with a partner. The extra damage on E cuts down on the fights where a target escapes a sliver short of dying. The shorter cooldown on R lets her set up with her support more often in a single game, so the value stacks up in matches with repeated teamfights.
Vayne
VaynePatch 6.3e
Nerf
Q Early cooldown: increased Vayne's early in-and-out pattern is the target here. With a longer cooldown at low ranks, she can no longer reset her spacing after every trade, so stepping in exposes her to the return before the dash is back. Later ranks are unchanged, which makes surviving the opening stretch of lane the decisive part of the matchup.
⚔️
Gargoyle EnchantPatch 6.3e
Nerf
Gargoyle Enchant Base shield: reduced Cap scaling from AR and MR: reduced The shield is trimmed at both ends of its scaling. The lower base value weakens it before the tank has much defensive gear, and the reduced cap means stacking resistances no longer pushes it as high as it did. Diving in and simply outlasting the damage is less dependable, so timing the activation against the enemy's key abilities matters more.
Nidalee
NidaleePatch 6.3e
Nerf
Base Stats Base AD: reduced Cougar Form Q Damage: reduced Nidalee loses a little at both ranges. The lower Base AD slows her jungle clear and softens her auto attacks, and the weaker cougar Q means more casts to finish a target once she has jumped in. Killing someone in a single dive is less reliable, which puts more weight on landing the ranged opener first and backing off when it misses.
Bloodthirster
BloodthirsterPatch 6.3e
Adjust
Bloodthirster Cost: reduced AD: increased Max HP: added Attack Speed: removed Lifeline effect: removed The item trades its attack speed and its safety net for raw damage and durability. A lower price alongside added AD and Max HP makes it a clear pick for sustaining through an extended fight. With the Lifeline shield gone, though, nothing catches you automatically at low health, so knowing when to disengage is back on the player.
Kog'Maw
Kog'MawPatch 6.3e
New
New Champion Kog'Maw Born from the Void corruption deep in the wastes of Icathia, Kog'Maw is a curious, rotting creature with a huge corrosive mouth. Kog'Maw joins the Wild Rift roster here. His mid-game spike drew attention immediately, and the following patch (6.3f) pulls back his early Base AD and the max HP damage on W. His job is grinding down durable targets with percent-health damage, which means how well he does depends on having teammates who can hold the space in front of him.
Rylai's Crystal Scepter
Rylai's Crystal ScepterPatch 6.3e
Nerf
Rylai's Crystal Scepter Slow duration: 1s → 0.75s A shorter slow leaves a gap between casts for the target to slip away. Champions who apply damage continuously barely notice it, but anyone relying on single hits to chase will find the slow has expired before the next one lands. If the item is bought for its lockdown, it now works best paired with a teammate's own crowd control.
Phantom Dancer
Phantom DancerPatch 6.3e
Buff
Phantom Dancer Attack Speed and Movement Speed buff duration: extended to 6s Cooldown: shortened to 10s The buff lasts longer and comes back sooner, so a much larger share of a fight is spent with it active. In a drawn-out teamfight that means moving from one target to the next before it drops, keeping the damage flowing. The extra uptime on the movement speed also gives more freedom when chasing or peeling away.

What the Patch Archive Covers

515 recorded changes across 26 versions, from 6.3 through to the current 7.2d. It is built for tracking how often a single champion has been buffed or nerfed.

Some patches move far more than others

The largest is 7.2 with 175 entries — the patch that rebuilt boots and introduced tier 3. Others run to a handful of lines, so the version numbers alone say nothing about how much the meta shifted.

Of the 515 entries, 182 are champion changes. The rest cover items and runes, ARAM and Arena tuning, ranked seasons and system-level work.

What the meta prediction is worth

Selecting a version also brings up a meta prediction for that patch, 26 versions in all. It is an AI-written read rather than measured data; the tier list is where you check what the win rates actually did.

Counts reflect the patch data bundled with this site. A new patch takes a short while to appear.
