Patch 7.0d changes

Update history and meta predictions

Numbers are transcribed from the official Riot patch notes; the commentary is ours. This page covers patch 7.0d (added 2026-05-28).

Meta analysis (patch 7.0d, AI-written forecast)

Patch 7.0d introduces Mel as a new champion. New items (Kraken Slayer, Knight's Vow, Overlord's Bloodmail, Unending Despair, Experimental Hexplate) widen builds for marksmen, supports, fighters and tanks. Fighters gain influence in split-pushing and teamfights. Fiddlesticks receives a major rework that improves usability. Buffs to Rell and Mordekaiser bring more juggernauts and engage supports, while Norra's nerf lowers her priority as a support.

Overlord's Bloodmail
Overlord's BloodmailPatch 7.0d
New
A new comeback item for fighters that grants a large amount of AD once their health drops low. Because the power only arrives after the user has been pushed to the edge, it rewards turning a near-death moment around rather than winning even trades early. From the other side, backing off just short of a kill now leaves a more dangerous opponent alive, so committing all the way becomes a real decision. The fighter carrying it has to keep fighting while badly hurt, which puts a premium on sustain and an escape tool to stay alive long enough to spend that AD.

Zoe Bug FixPatch 7.0d
Adjust
Sleepy Trouble Bubble Fixed a bug where the ability would over-search for target locations when cast with auto-aim. With auto-aim on, the bubble could travel toward a position other than the one the player intended, throwing away casts that should have connected. Now that it follows the input, using it to stop an enemy stepping forward or to cut off an escape route lands far more reliably. Players who lean on auto-aim will notice the difference in hit rate most.
Xayah
XayahPatch 7.0d
Buff
Featherstorm [New] The ability can now be cast with a tap even when there are no targets nearby. With auto-aim, Featherstorm was unreliable whenever no attackable target stood close by, which made it awkward as a way to dodge incoming ranged attacks. It can now be tapped regardless of whether a target is present, so it comes out the instant Xayah sees something aimed at her. That applies just as much while retreating or moving alone as it does mid-fight, so the cast finally matches the moment the player decided on it.
Norra
NorraPatch 7.0d
Nerf
Journey to Nowhere (Skill 2) Cooldown: 18/16.5/15/13.5s → 18/17/16/15s Damage: 75/115/155/195 → 65/105/145/185 The crowd control on this ability had made Norra a stronger support than intended. Rank 1 is unchanged, but rank 4 goes from 13.5s back up to 15s, so ranking the ability no longer speeds up the rotation nearly as much. The flat 10 damage cut also means the crowd control comes with less chip damage attached, which gives the enemy a real window to fight back.
Rell
RellPatch 7.0d
Buff
Base Stats Base AR: 40 → 46 Base AD: 58 → 62 Shattering Strike Damage: 70/125/180/235 → 70/130/190/250 Rune changes had left Rell noticeably squishier than the other supports, so she gets the durability to step forward again. Six more base AR makes walking into an enemy marksman's basic attacks survivable, and the extra 4 base AD sharpens her level 1 trading. Shattering Strike is untouched at rank 1 but gains up to 15 damage from rank 2 onward, so the pressure shows up once she has points in it.
Hecarim
HecarimPatch 7.0d
Adjust
Base Stats Base AD: 58 → 54 AD per level: 3.6 → 4 Spirit of Dread Damage: 15/20/25/30 → 12/18/24/30 Hecarim had been running away with games in high elo on the strength of his early roaming. Four less base AD with 0.4 more per level slows his first clears and his early gank conversions, while the gap closes as he levels and his late-game AD ends up higher than before. Spirit of Dread loses 3 damage at rank 1, 2 at rank 2 and 1 at rank 3 with rank 4 untouched, so what gets trimmed is the chip damage before the ability is maxed.
Knight's Vow
Knight's VowPatch 7.0d
New
A new support item built around protecting 1 chosen ally. While equipped, it takes on part of the damage the chosen ally receives and heals the user. Committing to one ally is the trade-off, but in exchange the focus fire aimed at that ally genuinely gets lighter. When a marksman or mage is being hunted every fight, the support can step forward and share the punishment instead of watching it land. Because it absorbs damage and heals at the same time, playing purely defensively no longer means being the first one to die. Who it is attached to changes what it does, so pick based on the team composition and on who the enemy is actually trying to kill.
Unending Despair
Unending DespairPatch 7.0d
New
A new sustain item for tanks that heals them continuously in combat while dealing damage to nearby enemies. Its value grows the longer a fight drags on, so it suits a frontliner standing in the middle absorbing damage rather than someone trading in short bursts. Healing and steady damage in one package also makes clearing a wave or a jungle camp alone far more comfortable. Opponents have to answer it either by burning the tank down faster than the healing ticks or by bringing grievous wounds.
Mel
MelPatch 7.0d
New
Mel Medarda is the presumed heir to the Medarda family, once the most powerful house in Noxus. She carries herself as a graceful aristocrat, but underneath she is a formidable politician who sets out to learn everything about everyone she meets. After an encounter with the enigmatic Black Rose, Mel discovers how deep her mother's deceptions run and finds herself facing a situation that may be beyond her. With newly awakened magic at her side, Mel sails home in search of answers. Plenty of people would see her inner light smothered, but Mel's spirit never bends. Mel releases on March 13 at 09:01 JST. This is a champion release rather than a balance change, and she does not unlock the moment the patch lands — she becomes available at the time listed above. In the first days after release, few players will recognise her abilities on sight, and it is easy to die without understanding what actually did the damage. If you run into her in ranked, hold your distance for the first exchange and work out where the damage is coming from before committing.
Mordekaiser
MordekaiserPatch 7.0d
Buff
Obliterate (Skill 1) Damage: 80/110/140/170 (+4–70 based on champion level) (+70% AP) → 80/110/140/170 (+4–70 based on champion level) (+70% AP) (+120% bonus AD) The bonus AD Mordekaiser steals with his ultimate was hard to feel, so Obliterate now scales with 120% of it. The stolen stats feed straight into his main damage tool, which makes dragging an opponent away and then finishing the duel far more readable. It also gives AD-carrying items a reason to appear in his build instead of pure AP, widening his options.
⚔️
ArenaPatch 7.0d
Adjust
Arena Item Adjustments Pyromancer Cloak, Mogul Mail, and others Arena's changes this patch land on items, including Pyromancer Cloak and Mogul Mail. Both are Arena-only pieces whose value depends heavily on when they are picked up, so the buy order players had settled into is not automatically the best one any more. This note does not list the resulting values, so check the in-game item descriptions for the exact numbers.
Kraken Slayer
Kraken SlayerPatch 7.0d
New
A new on-hit item for marksmen, built to deal heavy damage over a sustained fight. Its value grows with every basic attack, so it favours grinding an opponent down rather than deleting them in a burst. Pairing it with attack speed from items or abilities keeps the effect cycling, and it gives marksmen a way to cut through high-health targets. The flip side is that hit-and-run play never gets full value out of it, so it depends on the team creating the space to keep attacking.
Titanic Hydra
Titanic HydraPatch 7.0d
Adjust
Titanic Hydra changes how it provides its stats. Instead of scaling off health, it now grants a flat amount of AD the moment it is bought. Under the old rule the item felt weak on completion and only paid off once several health items were stacked behind it. With the AD fixed at purchase, it does exactly what it says from the first moment, which makes planning a build around it much easier. The trade-off is that piling on health no longer converts into extra damage, so late-game stacking builds lose that upside.
⚔️
ARAMPatch 7.0d
Adjust
15 brand-new augments are added this patch. 4 popular augments from the past return alongside 8 easter eggs. The pool grows sharply all at once, so sticking to the familiar picks means missing combinations that now exist. An augment's value depends heavily on the champion holding it, so a workable habit is to amplify your main damage source on the early pick and cover what the build lacks on the later ones. The returning augments will feel immediately readable to anyone who played them before, which also gives lapsed players an easy way back in.
Fiddlesticks
FiddlesticksPatch 7.0d
Adjust
A Harmless Scarecrow (Passive) [New] On a takedown, Fiddlesticks summons an effigy that walks toward the nearest enemy. After 3s, or on reaching its target, it explodes and fears nearby enemy champions. Terrify (Skill 1) [Removed] Fears targets along its path. [New] Fears the selected target. Fear duration: 1/1.1/1.2/1.3s → 1.2/1.4/1.6/1.8s Bountiful Harvest (Skill 2) [New] Fiddlesticks is slowed by 30% while channelling. [New] Completing the channel, or killing every target in range before it ends, reduces this ability's cooldown by 50%. [New] After 1s the ability can be recast to end it early. [New] Fiddlesticks cannot use other abilities or basic attacks while channelling. Cooldown: 8/7.5/7/6.5s → 11/10/9/8s Damage per second: 60/90/120/150 + 25% AP → 60/90/120/150 + 35% AP Damage based on the target's missing HP: 10/11.5/13/14.5% of missing HP → 12/14/16/18% Crowstorm (Ultimate) Damage every 0.25s: 25/42.5/60 + 10% AP → 30/50/70 + 10% AP The obscure tricks are stripped out and that power goes back into the basics. The passive now sends an effigy walking at the nearest enemy after every takedown, so one kill in a teamfight buys a second wave of fear on its own. Skill 1 stops sweeping everything in its path and simply fears the chosen target, and with up to 0.5s more fear it reliably locks down the one enemy who matters. Skill 2 costs up to 3 more seconds of cooldown and pins Fiddlesticks under a 30% slow with nothing else available, but AP scaling climbs from 25% to 35%, missing-HP damage tops out at 18% instead of 14.5%, and finishing the channel or clearing everything in range hands back half the cooldown.
Experimental Hexplate
Experimental HexplatePatch 7.0d
New
A new ultimate-focused item for fighters that grants a large power spike after casting an ultimate. Since the buff is tied to the ultimate, deciding when to press it becomes a damage decision in itself. Casting it as a fight opens means entering the brawl already empowered, while holding it purely as an escape wastes what the item is for. Fighters who cycle their ultimate quickly gain the most, and whether it goes first in the build or after a defensive item changes how aggressively they can play.

What the Patch Archive Covers

515 recorded changes across 26 versions, from 6.3 through to the current 7.2d. It is built for tracking how often a single champion has been buffed or nerfed.

Some patches move far more than others

The largest is 7.2 with 175 entries — the patch that rebuilt boots and introduced tier 3. Others run to a handful of lines, so the version numbers alone say nothing about how much the meta shifted.

Of the 515 entries, 182 are champion changes. The rest cover items and runes, ARAM and Arena tuning, ranked seasons and system-level work.

What the meta prediction is worth

Selecting a version also brings up a meta prediction for that patch, 26 versions in all. It is an AI-written read rather than measured data; the tier list is where you check what the win rates actually did.

Counts reflect the patch data bundled with this site. A new patch takes a short while to appear.
